MatchX is a Prediction Mini Game where the operator can create a Game (e.g “Season”) with different Rounds, where each round will contain a set of matches (unlimited) the players will have to predict the correct score for.
Lobby - We've introduced a ‘Match X’ lobby, offering players the option to select from a variety of games. Once users enter a specific game, they can effortlessly return to the lobby by clicking the ‘Back’ button.
The matches can be comprised of different sports, different leagues, and different days.
Rounds - Every round has a prize pool, similar to Smartico Tournaments module, which can be Gamification Points, Bonuses, Spin on a Mini Game, or tangible items. At the end of each round, when the matches are settled and the round is resolved, the players receive the prizes based on their prediction and have clear visibility of the leaderboard.
Leaderboard - The Leaderboards tab provides real-time score updates. The list of ranked players is displayed, and players can click on any participant to access their predictions for the current round (if enabled)
Rules tab - In this section, operators have the option to input their Terms & Conditions, Rules, Jackpot conditions, and any additional information they wish to communicate to players. This content should be populated from the BO within the game template.
Jackpot - The MatchX, like other Mini Games, offers a progressive jackpot as well. The jackpot is awarded to the player who predicts all correct scores of all the matches in a round. If 2 or more players predict the correct scores for the entire round, the jackpot will be evenly distributed between them.
The conditions of the Jackpot should be explained in the 'Rules' section in the Match X template in the BO. They will be displayed under the Rules tab in the game UI. You can use tag {{jackpot}} in the name of the prize and the winning message. The tag will be replaced with the current value of the jackpot.
When a Jackpot is configured and added as a prize, the current jackpot amount will be displayed in the Prize pool section.
The Match X game can be configured from the BO -> Gamification tab -> Match X section. To create a new one you just need to click on the 'Create button.
Please follow the guidelines in the Mini Games guide, which cover all of the game configurations, such as attempt costs, usage limitations, segmentation, etc.
The prize list is populated automatically in the Prize Pool section in the following way:
To create the Prize Pool, go to the Prizes tab and click the 'Add' button.
You can add a banner to your MatchX instance by either uploading an image from your local machine (will be uploaded on CDN automatically) or by inserting a URL.
The image size should be 900x200, or with the same proportions, and will be automatically responsive for all devices.
You have the ability to enable Seasonal Ranking for Match X. When it is enabled the final leaderboard will be built based on the results of matches in all the rounds. The prizes will be issued when all rounds are resolved. For example, if only one round is resolved, and there are other rounds, that are not resolved, the prizes will not be issued.
It can be configured from the 'Enable seasonal ranking' drop-down on the game level (General), not on the rounds level.
Once it is enabled a new tab called 'Leaderboard (for season)' appears on the game template. This tab gives you information about the winners for the whole season, including all rounds.
Players can switch between the different leaderboards on the Gamification Widget as well. For example, you can create a Seasonal Ranking for the Champions League, starting with the preliminary round, then the qualifying rounds and play-off round. The rounds will be visible on the leaderboard, but the prizes will be issued to players when all rounds are resolved.
‘Hide ranking in Leaderboard’ gives you the option to hide the ranking of the players in the Leaderboards on a ‘Match X’ game. For example, if you have multiple players in the same position, and you don’t want it to be visible to the end user, you can now hide the ranking. It is applicable to both mobile and desktop.
Games can be marked as canceled in Match X rounds. The option can be found in the Rounds tab -> inside the Round -> Events section. There is a 'Mark Match as Canceled' button inside the Match Details pop-up. Once a match is designated as canceled it cannot be reactivated. On the UI the game will be displayed as inactive and the players will not be able to set their predictions.
You can set a round which is in the future and if you do not have any active rounds we will display the upcoming one. For cases where there is an active round and an upcoming one, only the active round will be displayed. However, if all rounds are resolved and there is only one upcoming, the upcoming round will be displayed.
Keep in mind that upcoming rounds will not be displayed in the Leaders and Rounds tabs. If there is only 1 round and it is Upcoming the Leaders and Rounds tabs will be hidden.
In upcoming rounds, the players will be able to view the matches and what others voted for, but will not be able to set predictions. There will be a message under the round name notifying the players when the round will start.
You can now remove tie rankings on the Match X leaderboard. The setting, ‘Remove Tie Rankings,’ is available in the BO under the Match X template and is disabled by default.
Keep in mind that when both the "Seasonal Ranking" and "Remove Tie Ranking" options are enabled, the General Leaderboard prioritizes players first by points and then by the time of their prediction, regardless of the round. If two players have the same points from different rounds, the player who made their prediction first will receive the higher rank on the leaderboard.
When enabled, if two or more players have the same score, the player who made their prediction first will be ranked higher, ensuring that each position is held by a single player (e.g., only one player in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place). In such case, the prize for 1st place for example will be issued only to 1 player.
If the option is disabled, players with the same score will share the same position on the leaderboard. For example, you could have three players tied for 1st place and two for 2nd place. In such case, the prize for 1st place for instance can be issued to two or more players depending on how many players have the same score.
