Locked Missions

Locked missions differ from generally available missions in that they require players to meet specific unlock conditions before progress can be made. These conditions might include:

  • Reaching a certain player level

  • Completing another mission

  • Fulfilling custom criteria defined by the operator

Locked missions can be:

  • Visible but locked – shown in the UI with an indication that they must be unlocked before progressing

  • Hidden until unlocked – not shown to the player until the unlock conditions are met

The exact behavior in the UI depends on the configured mission settings.

[Opt-in: OFF] Locked Mission + Availability Period

If the opt-in option is disabled and the Start and End dates are configured, the mission will have the following behavior:

  • Before the Start date, the mission will appear under the Locked tab with a label indicating the start date and a countdown timer showing the time remaining until the Start date.

  • After the Start Date is reached, the date stamp is replaced by a Locked chip and timer showing the time left until the end date is reached (only if the end date has less than 30 days left until it's reached).

  • After the mission is unlocked, the ‘Locked’ chip is replaced with ‘Active’, and the timer still shows the time left until the End date is reached (only if the end date has less than 30 days left until it's reached). If the End date has more than 30 days left until it's reached, the timer will not be displayed.

  • After the End date is reached, and the mission is not completed (regardless of whether it was previously locked or unlocked), it will go to the missed tab with the Expired chip.

[Opt-in: OFF] Locked mission + Time to complete the mission

If the opt-in option is disabled and 'Time to complete the mission' is set, the mission will have the following behavior:

  • Before unlocking the mission, it is under the Locked tab with the ‘Locked’ chip.

  • After unlocking the mission, it goes to the Available tab with a timer showing the time left to complete the mission.

  • After the time to complete the mission is reached, and the mission is not completed, it will go to the Missed tab with the ‘Expired’ chip.

[Opt-in: OFF] Locked mission + Time to complete the mission + Availability Period

If the opt-in option is disabled, 'Time to complete the mission' is set, and Start and End dates are configured, the mission will have the following behavior:

  • Before the start date, the mission will appear under the Locked tab with a label indicating the start date and a countdown timer showing the time remaining until the Start date.

  • After the Start Date is reached, the date stamp is replaced by a Locked chip and timer showing the time left until the end date is reached (only if the end date has less than 30 days left until it's reached).

  • Before Unlock, when the End date is reached, the mission goes to the Missed tab. The ‘Time to Complete the mission’ is not taken into account, because the mission was not unlocked.

  • After the mission is unlocked, the ‘Locked’ chip is replaced with ‘Active’, the timer is changed, and it shows the time left to complete the mission. This timer takes into consideration the End date as well, and it shows the shortest period that is left.

  • When the time to complete the mission or the End date is reached, and if the mission is not completed, it will go to the Missed tab with the ‘Expired’ chip.

[Opt-in ON] Locked mission + Availability Period

If the opt-in option is enabled and the Start and End dates are configured, the mission will have the following behavior:

  • Before the start date, the mission will appear under the Locked tab with a label indicating the start date and a countdown timer showing the time remaining until the Start date.

  • After the Start Date is reached, the date stamp is replaced by a Locked chip and timer showing the time left until the end date is reached.

  • After the mission is unlocked, the timer still shows the time left until the End date is reached, the active opt-in button appears, and there is a ‘Requires opt-in’ chip.

  • After Opt-in: The timer still shows the time left until the End date is reached, and there is a ‘You are opted in’ chip.

  • When the End date is reached and the mission is not completed, it will go to the missed tab with the ‘Expired’ chip.

[Opt-in ON] Locked mission + Time to complete the mission

If the opt-in option is enabled and the 'Time to complete the mission' is set, the mission will have the following behavior:

  • Before unlocking the mission, it is under the Locked tab with the ‘Locked’ chip without a timer.

  • After the mission is unlocked, it is moved to the Available tab with an active opt-in button, ‘Requires opt-in’ chip, and without a timer

  • After Opt-in, the timer appears showing the time left to complete the mission and a ‘You are opted in’ chip.

  • When the Time to complete the mission is reached and the mission is not completed, it will go to the missed tab with the ‘Expired’ chip.

[Opt-in ON] Locked mission + Time to complete the mission + Availability Period

If the opt-in option is enabled, 'Time to complete the mission' is set, and Start and End dates are configured, the mission will have the following behavior:

  • Before the start date, the mission will appear under the Locked tab with a label indicating the start date and a countdown timer showing the time remaining until the Start date.

  • After the Start Date is reached, the date stamp is replaced by a Locked chip and timer showing the time left until the End date is reached

    • Before Unlock, when the End date is reached and the mission is not unlocked, it will go to the Missed tab. The ‘Time to Complete the mission’ is not taken into account, because the mission was not unlocked.

  • After the mission is unlocked, it is moved to the available tab with an active opt-in button, ‘Requires opt-in’ chip, and the timer still shows the time left until the End date is reached.

    • After the mission is unlocked, but the End date is reached and the mission is not completed, it will go to the Missed tab.

  • After opt-in, a new timer is displayed showing the time left to complete the mission and a ‘You are opted in’ chip. This timer takes into consideration the End date as well, and it shows the shortest period that is left. So, in case the End date is closer in time than the time set in Time to complete the mission, the timer will show the time left until the End date and vice versa.

  • When the time to complete the mission or the End date is reached, and if the mission is not completed, it will go to the Missed tab with the ‘Expired’ chip.
