Prize Drop is an engaging retention tool that allows operators to randomly award pre-defined prizes to players through surprise pop-ups. These prizes can be given whether players are online or offline. The probability and type of the prize can be configured.
Prize drops can be distributed to specific user segments through Campaigns, Automation Rules, Mission rewards, Badge rewards, Tournament rewards, or sold as mystery store items. Once the conditions are met, the Prize Drop will appear as a pop-up in the UI. The prize drop pop-up can be customized from the BO.
The operator creates a prize drop template in Smartico’s BO and adds the prizes. Rewards can include points, bonuses, tangible items, mini-game attempts, and even Jackpots, similar to other mini-games.
1. Click on ‘Create’ in the Prize Drop section within the BO to start building the prize drop
2. Refill Prize Pool Schedule - it is optional and, by default is disabled. When enabled you can set a schedule to reset the prize pool.
Please note that if the Refill Prize Pool option is disabled, prize items will eventually run out.
3. Give prize when user see it - define when you will give the prize. It is enabled by default, which means that prizes will be given to the users when they see the pop-up. When disabled, users receive the prize even if they are offline and haven't seen the pop-up yet. They will see the Prize Drop pop-up when they come online unless the Prize Drop was given from a Campaign or Automation Rule and the Delivery Timeout has been reached.
4. Choose a template for the pop-up - you can choose and customize the design of the 'Prize Drop' pop-up by editing the HTML. Keep in mind that the selected template will be applied to all Prizes.
5. Add Placeholders - here, you can add custom text that will be displayed in each prize. This text will remain the same for all prizes.
6. Add prizes and define their winning probabilities - you can further customize each prize by selecting a unique Prize Name, Icon, Winning Message, CTA buttons, and font size.
Prizes will be taken from the pool regardless of the player’s acknowledgment. This means that no matter if the players see the Prize-drop pop-up or not, the prize will be taken from the Prize Pool!
You can decide how to issue the prize drop - via Campaign, Automation Rule, Mission, Tournament, Badge, or Store Item. The Prize Drop activity is added to all of the above.
Keep in mind that for cases where the Prize drop is issued via Campaign or Automation rule and the user is offline when the prize is given and remains offline until the Delivery Timeout is reached, they will not see the Prize Drop pop-up!
‘Prize Drop’ via Campaigns - The ‘Prize drop’ is added in both Real-time and Scheduled Campaigns in the flow builder activities under the Loyalty & Gamification section.
‘Prize Drop’ via Automation Rules - The ‘Prize drop is added in both Real-time and Scheduled Automation Rules and can be selected as an Activity type.
