Treasure Hunt is an engaging mini-game where players accumulate the amount of their reward by opening boxes filled with surprises. The special score modifiers that can multiply, divide, or reset the current score of the player add an extra layer of thrill and unpredictability to the game.
The Treasure Hunt mini-game game is fully customizable, allowing you to create your own skin, specify the type and quantity of prizes, determine the cost type for attempts (free, gamification points, or spin attempts), define the user segment eligible to access the game, and many more.
Gameplay Overview
Starting the Game:
Players open boxes on a grid.
Each box reveals either a number (which adds to their prize total) or a special score modifier.
Prize Tracking:
The first opened box reveals the prize type (e.g., points, free spins, etc.), and a counter displays the accumulated total prize amount.
Numbers revealed from boxes add to the total prize amount.
Modifiers affect the total sum by multiplying, dividing, or resetting it to zero.
Game Progression:
The game ends when the ‘End Game’ box is revealed, which occurs after a random number of steps (e.g., 5, 10, 12 boxes).
At the end, the player receives the accumulated prize amount.
For example, if the prize is free spins and the total sum is 30, the player wins 30 free spins.
Prize amount, score modifiers, and max number of steps in the game are configurable in the BO.
Special Score Modifiers:
Modifiers can be enabled or disabled via the BO to add extra layers of strategy and excitement:
Multipliers (x2, x5, x10): Multiply the current prize amount by 2, 5, or 10. Example: If the first box reveals 10 and the second reveals x5, the total becomes 50.
Dividers (/2, /5, /10): Divide the current prize amount by 2, 5, or 10.
Reset to 0: Resets the total prize amount to zero but does not end the game.
0x: Empty box
You can set up the Treasure Hunt mini-game from the BO under the Mini-Games section in the Gamification tab. The game configuration template is similar to other random mini-games, featuring tabs for General and Advanced Settings, Prizes, Winnings, No Claimed Prizes, BI, and Used In.
However, Treasure Hunt introduces a few unique options in the Advanced settings and in the Prize configuration.
Advanced settings:
The 'Max. steps in game' option allows you to set the maximum number of steps for a game. For example, if you enter 10, the game will end in a random number of steps between 1 and 10, and the number of steps will vary each time the game is played.
The Prize configuration settings have been updated with the following new options:
Prize amount - The prize amount specifies the final amount the player wins at the end of the game. This amount remains the same even if score modifiers are enabled. If the prize type is points, the option changes to the ‘Points amount’.
Prize name (without amount) - If the prize type is points, bonus, jackpot, or tangible items the prize name should not contain any amount.
Allow split by decimal - available only for prize-type Bonus and Tangible items. When enabled the prize amount can be split into decimal numbers.
Score modifiers - You have the option to choose score modifiers for each prize type. These modifiers will appear randomly during gameplay. You can select multiple modifiers, just one, or none. The score modifiers won't change the final prize amount.
To create a custom skin for the Treasure Hunt, you can use the ‘Mini-games skin editor’, following the same approach that is used for mini-games. The ‘Treasure Hunt’ package also includes sound effects so you can upload custom sounds as well.
The supported format for the sound file is MP3 and the maximum file size is 1MB.
