🌷March 2023

Smartico release notes for March 2023 - covering CRM Automation and Gamification improvements done since the previous release.

CRM Automation

Automation Rules - Activity planner

We added the feature for planning in advance when your automation rule to be active. You can mark the from - to dates in the following fields. Please note that the time is always in UTC time zone so make sure you plan accordingly.

There is also possibility to make your automation rule active only on certain days of the week. For example a higher range automation rule runs over the weekend as opposed to the working days.

Automation Rules - Entry mode once in a lifetime

You now have the option to choose the entry mode to the automation rules. You can decide whether the users to enter just once in their lifetime to the given rule or be able to re-enter it. The setting can be found here:

Automation Rules - activity giving options extended with mark/unmark user

An additional activity giver has been enabled for the automation rules. It's now possible to mark or unmark users as a result of an automation rule activation:

You can mark users in a bulk also from a marketing campaign and individually in the user profiles.

Campaigns - download your convert report

You can now download the list of your converted user from a given campaign. Simply filter the list out from the Operations tab and download it using the upper right corner button:

Campaigns - chained campaigns new visualization and origin indicator

We have changed the visualization of the journeys triggered by the event "Core: start chained campaign". Once picked as a campaign entry trigger the fields for segment, conditions to the segment and 'Exclude users of campaigns' feature become unavailable. The reason is that the segment of the campaign is already predefined in the original campaign from which the users are been sent from.

We also added an origin indicator "Show campaigns that are starting current one" which is a link to the campaign from which the traffic originates.

CRM - manual audit log available in user profiles

You can check what kind of manual actions have been performed to certain users from each user profile. It keeps a log of manually given missions, bonuses, spin attempts, communications, adjustment of points, marking users, switching off/on gamification, making people test users ets. It shows details about the type of activity, the action done, date and who made the manual action.

You can access the full log of manual actions for all users again in the CRM section - Users Audit:

Gamification

UI Widgets (Beta)

We are excited to announce our new UI widget functionality, designed to help you create a more engaging and immersive user interface for your website or mail templates. With our UI widgets, you can now create a gamification UI that represents the specific users of your website or app. Our UI widgets are fully customizable, so you can easily tailor them to match your brand and style.

UI widgets are not limited to websites, however. You can also embed them into mail templates using a special tag in the HTML of the mail resource. This can be a great way to increase user engagement and enhance the user experience of your mail campaigns.

For more details about UI Widgets please read a dedicated help section - UI Widgets.

If you want to opt-in to the Beta program and try UI Widgets in the early state, please contact your Account Manager.

We are introducing two new parameters to our deep link feature: "standalone" and "hide_main". These parameters provide additional control over how the gamification widget is displayed when users navigate to specific screens via deep links.

By adding "&standalone=true" to the deep link, users will be directed to a dedicated section of the gamification widget without the left menu and header. This parameter is particularly useful when you want to provide users with a seamless experience that is focused solely on the content of a specific screen. For example, adding "dp:gf_missions&standalone=true" to the deep link will open the missions screen without the left menu and header.

The second parameter, "&hide_main=true", allows you to focus on a specific element identified by "id". This parameter is useful when you want to highlight a particular feature or functionality within the gamification widget. For example, adding "dp:gf_missions&id=123&hide_main=true" to the deep link will open a specific mission with ID 123 in the focus.

Similar way you can trigger the opening of the "Change avatar" interface or "Change nickname" interface ('dp:gf_change_avatar&hide_main=true' and 'dp:gf_change_nickname&hide_main=true')

These parameters are available for most of the deep links related to gamification and can be executed from various places in the Smartico system, including popups, push messages, inbox messages, SMS, and mail templates.

We hope these new parameters provide you with greater control and flexibility over how your gamification widget is displayed to users.

You can find more details about the support of these parameters in the Deep links section.

Spin the wheel - expiration of spin attempts

You can now define if the spins you are offering to users are expirable or not. E.g. you can give a daily spin with an expiration of 1 day. This means that if the user didn't use it during 24 hours after it was issued, the spin will expire. You can control this from the game template:

Spin the wheel - upload a full image within sectors

You can now upload the icon as a full image that covers wheel sectors. That way you can incorporate designs, different font sizes and colors

Mini-games - "Period type" for the number of spins attempts restriction

With this release we are improving our "Mini-games" functionality with two new configuration options for our spinning wheel feature: "Max number of attempts user can do" and "Period type". These options allow you to control the number of attempts users can make within a specific period of time, and define the error message they will receive if they exceed this limit.

If you choose "Time from the last attempt" as the period type, the restriction in time will be counted from the user's last attempt. For example, if you limit users to one attempt per day, they will not be able to spin again for exactly 24 hours since their last attempt.

Alternatively, you can select "Calendar days" as the period type to allow one attempt per day. This means that when a new day starts for the user, they will be able to spin again.
