# Multi-brands support

Smartico's system offers support for managing multiple brands under one operation (organization).

This capability allows for either consolidating multiple brands under one label or creating separate labels for each brand. This flexibility caters to different operational strategies and management preferences.

**Advantages of Consolidation**

1. **Unified Campaign Management**: Centralizing all brands under one label enables the use of a single campaign structure across different brands. This approach saves time and resources as there's no need to create separate campaigns for each brand.
2. **Individual Campaigns**: For more brand-specific control, separate campaigns can be created by filtering the brand name in the segment. This approach allows for more tailored and brand-specific marketing strategies.
3. **Content Variations**: With one campaign structure, Smartico allows the customization of creatives (inbox messages, popups, etc.) through content variations. This feature ensures that the right creative is automatically selected for the appropriate brand and integrates with brand-specific SMS/Mail gateways.
4. **Simplified Operations**: Managing multiple brands under one label simplifies operations, providing a streamlined approach to campaign creation and execution.
5. **Label Tags**: Can be used to differentiate the content of communication resources and gamification elements per brand.
6. **Gamification Widget, Settings, and UI**: You can build a visually distinct Gamification UI per brand and configure brand-specific widget navigation and section visibility.

**Disadvantages of Consolidation and possible solutions**

1. **Gamification Challenges**: When multiple brands share a label, they also share gamification levels and points distribution for them. This can lead to a uniform gamification experience across different brands, potentially diluting brand-specific engagement strategies.
2. **Shared Leaderboards**: A single leaderboard for all brands means mixed participation from users of all brands, sharing the same prize pool. This could impact the competitive integrity and brand-specific engagement of gamification features.
3. **Brand-Specific Features**: Despite the shared gamification structure, Smartico allows for differentiating aspects like naming levels, using unique pictures and descriptions, and creating distinct missions, automation rules, minigames, and tournaments for each brand.
4. **Backoffice and Reporting Visibility**: Backoffice users with access to a label comprising multiple brands will have visibility over all configurations and reports. This means that it's not possible to restrict visibility to configurations specific to one brand for specific Backoffice users.

### User Identification and Tracking in Multi-Brand Setups

In a multi-brand setup under a single label, each brand is configured with a unique External Brand ID and its own Brand Public Key (the **External brand ID** and **Public key** fields of the brand in **Label** → **Brands**).

* **Event and Registration Tracking**: When sending API events or initializing the frontend SDK, the integration must provide the External Brand ID or Brand Public Key so activities are attributed to the correct brand.
* **Player ID Namespacing**: Smartico automatically namespaces external player IDs per brand behind the scenes, ensuring that players who share identical external customer IDs across different brands remain separate user profiles within the label.

### Multi-Brand Bonus Templates

When integrating bonus delivery across multiple brands under one label, one bonus template can serve all brands. In the [bonus template](/welcome/products/general-concepts/bonuses.md) form, the **Branding** section lets you set a brand-specific **Name**, **Image**, **Acknowledge message**, and **Redirect to** link; empty fields fall back to the default values. The section shows when more than one brand of the label has gamification on. Mapping a single Smartico reward (such as a level-up bonus, store purchase, or campaign action) to different external bonus template IDs depending on which brand the recipient belongs to depends on your integration; ask the Smartico support team.

### Cross-Brand Segmentation and Player Matching

Consolidating multiple brands under one label unlocks cross-brand intelligence:

* **Brand Filtering in Segments**: Target players of specific brands by filtering on the standard **Core: smartico brand** user property.
* **Cross-Brand Player Matching**: Smartico can link player profiles across sister brands. How players are matched depends on the integration; contact the Smartico support team to define the matching logic. The system exposes the **Core: my smartico other brands** property (shown as **Crossed brands** on the user profile), enabling operators to build cross-sell journeys and identify multi-brand users.

### Brand-Level Gamification Switch

If an operator wants gamification active on only certain brands under a consolidated label, gamification can be disabled per brand: open the brand in **Label** → **Brands**, go to the **Brand settings** tab, and turn on **Disable missions and gamification UI for this brand** in the **Gamification** group. When disabled for a brand, the widget UI is hidden and mission and badge progress is paused for that brand's users, while CRM communications and automation rules continue to function normally. Tournaments, leaderboards, mini-games, and other mechanics keep working; disable each of them separately if needed.

### Frequently Asked Questions

**Can different brands have independent level progression structures or points economies under one label?**

No. Under a single label, the level thresholds, point distribution rules, and leaderboards are shared across all brands. While you can customize level names, descriptions, and badges per brand, creating completely isolated level structures or separate point economies requires configuring separate labels.

**How do we route emails and SMS through brand-specific sender domains and gateways?**

Configure brand-specific email and SMS gateways in Back-Office communication settings. When creating campaigns, use content variations with brand conditions; Smartico automatically delivers each message through the corresponding brand's gateway and sender profile.

**Can Back-Office permissions be restricted so managers only see one brand?**

No. Back-Office permissions are enforced at the label level. Any user with access to a label can see data and configurations across all brands within that label. If strict permission boundaries between different operational teams are required, separate labels must be used.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.smartico.ai/welcome/products/tools-and-guides/multi-brands-support.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
